a new quality management system that brings efficiency to airports and aircrafts facilities management services

April 28, 2014 – Libanet, the leading aviation industry services provider, announced it has launched a new innovative quality management technology, the Computerized Quality Management System (CQMS), with a main objective of customer and end-user satisfaction.

The announcement comes at a time where the Middle East is considered to be one of the fastest growing region regarding travel and tourism. Indeed, the Middle East’s air passenger traffic is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.7% between 2012 and 2032, outpacing other traditional routes such as Europe and North America, according to a report by Alpen Capital This is due to the economic growth in the area, while some major Middle Eastern airports and airlines companies have announced expansion plans.

The new quality management system is a designed CQMS: it integrates and interlinks all departments including top management on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with instantaneous results and follow-up.  “As Libanet always strives for quality and excellence in the services it provides to airports and airline companies, our teams conceived an innovative CQMS, in order to monitor the quality of maintenance and services delivered to our customers. The CQMS conceived by Libanet aims at increasing high performance services: it is a pioneering technology”, commented Tony Saade, CEO of Libanet. “The implementation of this system eliminates unattended tasks and slow response since, by design, it is not allowable for a task not to be completed”, Saade added. The CQMS has been operational since August 2013 and is in constant development and continuous improvement.

The CQMS created by Libanet is specific to airports and can be tailored to any airport’s specificities as well as any aircraft fleet. It is used by Libanet’s teams in Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) and is about to be used in Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BRHIA). The CQMS performs two main actions:

  1. It maintains the quality checks by allowing the Quality controller to know whether the task is performed or not. It also permits a quality rating (satisfactory; partially satisfactory, non satisfactory, critical). When a task is not performed, it sends an alert to the supervisor. It is connected to the management and issues reports as soon as they are synchronized with the server.
  2. Its second action is that it permits remote control from top management in real time. It is a closed loop system.

The CQMS is a very helpful tool for facilities management especially in very busy airports or during high season, when the constant flow of passengers requires continuous spot checks and uninterrupted services, since the CQMS allows the scheduling of the frequency of the tasks.  In terms of feed-back from Libanet’s teams on the ground, the CQMS is efficiently assisting them at QAIA since it allows good management of non–conformities. In terms of quality controls checks, the statistics obtained for the various tasks range from a score of over 80% to 100 % in terms of performed tasks and quality rating. “The software is helping us reach our quality objectives. It also supports in cost and time management”, commented Samir Qubti, Libanet’s project manager at QAIA.

Some of the advantages of the CQMS software developed by Libanet are:  it can be incorporated into any mobile device. It is thus user friendly. It is also environmentally friendly since it has a minimal ecological footprint. In addition, it is bilingual and visual.

Libanet has over 17 years of experience in the aviation services industry and has established a track record in the quality of services provided to over 40 airline companies and four international airports in the MENA region. In 2013, Libanet won a contract to provide airline services to NasAir in both Jeddah and Riyadh stations. In 2012, Libanet was re-selected as the preferred bidder for the Facilities Management in the new Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, after servicing the old terminal for three years. It is worth noting that three airports serviced by Libanet were on the top 10 list of Skytrax’ Middle East Best Airports in 2014, and these are: Riyadh King Khalid International Airport; Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport and; Amman Queen Alia International Airport.
